LORIS GUBIAN WORLD CHAMPION

The French SHERCO rider, Loris Gubian has succeeded in winning the 2008 Junior World Trials Championship.

Loris has had a very successful season, one in which he stood at the top of the podium seven times.

He did not have a great start as he failed to make the podium in the first two trials which were held in Luxembourg and Ireland.

From that point on, he did however demonstrate his potential as he won the next three trials.

After the trial in Japan is was obvious to his competitors that the championship was his. He managed to accumulate enough of an advantage over the competition to allow him to be proclaimed Champion of the World before the calendar was finalized.

In the same championship, British riders Sam Haslam and Ross Danby also finished well, with their fifth and sixth place finishes, confirming Sherco’s success in the 2008 Junior World Championship.

Alexandre Ferrer European Champion

Alexandre Ferrer’s 2008 season culminated with the winning of the European Championship in the junior category.

The French rider had a spectacular start to this campaign, winning the first three trials in a row which were held in Ireland, Italy and Poland.

After slight descents in the Czech Republic and Sweden he returned with force in Portugal in which he managed to win the event and the European title.

The success of Ferrer in the 2008 season was also made note worthy with his excellent third place finish in the Youth Cup World Championship series.

With his two victories late in the season, in the Czech Republic and Sweden, he has confirmed that he is one of the riders to be reckoned with in future championships.

WEC GP OF EUROPE MENDE

Jeremy Joly Winner Of The G.P. Of Europe

The young star of French Enduros, Jeremy Joly, scored a fantastic victory in the last European Grand Prix, which was contested in the French town of Mende.

His name and that of Sherco will be inscribed in the golden book of enduro winners. He achieved an outright victory in the junior category on the second day of the race.

He had a good race the first day and won a podium spot, however on the second day he rode a brilliant race and nobody was able to stay with him on his Team-Sherco machine.

Joly demonstrated the great future potential of this team at this race.

After a slow start to the season in which he was unable to race the first two races because of an injury he has raced well enough to finish in fourth place overall in the Junior category with this victory in Mende.
